Living in a pandemic has been quite a change, some good and some not so great. Some people and populations have been impacted much more than others, in both harmful and helpful ways. Nurses are a professional group that has been deeply impacted Covid-19 because of the integral role that we hold in the healthcare system; we provide day to day care of patients, hold administrative, policy and planning roles, implementation and evaluation, and also engage in research and illness prevention and health promotion. In this episode Claire and Michelle talk about the break they took from recording and releasing episodes of The Shift Change, discussing hurdles and highlights. They are back with a renewed energy to share their experiences and ideas about healthcare, nurses and nursing. Their discussion focuses on challenges and opportunities that they have experienced in the past year, and their thoughts about what the future holds in terms of the significant changes of the Covid-19 pandemic.
